He married Janet Cook\moodie in Dalkeith, 27 November 1849. Janet was born 1828. She was the daughter of Thomas Cook and Elizabeth Weston. Janet died 26 November 1880 in 86 Back Street Dalkeith @ 5.00am Aged 52.

Thomas's Occupation: Gardeners Labourer / Joiner.

Thomas Thornburgh and Janet Cook\moodie had the following children:

4 ii. Elizabeth Thornburgh was born 1856.
Elizabeth died 24 February 1888 in Royal Infirmary Hospital Edinburgh @ 2.45pm Aged 30.
She married William Ruthven in West Parish Dalkeith, 23 September 1881.
William was born in Liberton Edinburgh 9 December 1850. He was the son of David Ruthven and Catherine Bamberry\bambury.
William died 31 December 1914 in 8 Hopetoun Road South Queensferry at 58 years of age. (See William Ruthven for the continuation of this line.)
