First Generation

1. James Clarke was born before 29 April 1860, the first event for which there is a recorded date.

He married Bridget Martin. She was the daughter of Patrick Martin and Mary Ann Reilly. Bridget died 21 January 1893 in Leith Hospital @ 7.25pm.

James Clarke and Bridget Martin had the following child:

Second Generation

2. Hugh Clarke (James) was born in Binnies Close Leith Edinburgh @ 4pm 29 April 1860. Hugh died 17 January 1940 in 42 Giles Street @ 5.35am, at 79 years of age.

He married Mary Irvine Ryan\rhynes\rynes in Roman Catholic Church Leith, 10 November 1880. She was the daughter of Martin Ryan\rhynes\rynes and Kate Thomson. Mary was Still Alive 02/04/1915 When Gran Got Married.

Hugh's Occupation: Marine Stoker.

Hugh Clarke and Mary Irvine Ryan\rhynes\rynes had the following children:

9 vii. Christina (Teeny) Clarke was born in 48 St Andrew Street Leith Edinburgh @ 9.30am 1 December 1890. She married John Henderson. (See John Henderson for the continuation of this line.)

10 viii. Alice Downie Clarke was born in 18 St Andrew Street @ 5.00am 3 March 1894. Alice died 3 September 1978 in Eastern General Hospital Leith @ 10.00pm at 84 years of age. Her body was interred in Seafield Cemetary. She married John Lang in St Mary's Star Of The Sea Leith, 2 April 1915. John was born in 1 Anchorfield Leith @ 10am 16 July 1894. He was the son of Samuel Lang and Annie Young Nee 1st Marr Good. John died 22 March 1961 in Longmore Hospital ( Recurrent Myocardial Infraction ), at 66 years of age. His body was interred in Seafield Cemetary. (See John Lang for the continuation of this line.)
