He marr. 15th Feb. 1721, Janet (died 5th March 1779), daugh. of Alexander Robertson, min. of Tinwald, and had issue-Alexander, D.D., min. of Inveresk; James; Jean; Rachel; William; Catherine; Janet, born 16th Aug. 1737 (marr. 30th Aug. 1760, Captain Thomas Bell, London); Sarah; Margaret (marr. 4th March 1758, Thos.
