died 20th Sept. 1834. He was a distinguished Greek and Hebrew scholar, and
Biblical critic. He marr. 25th Oct. 1802, Elizabeth (died 1st Dec. 1862),
daugh. of Robert Mackenzie, town - clerk of Dumbarton, and had issue
