He marr. 4th Sept. 1798, Catherine (died 2nd Dec. 1849), daugh. of Lieut.-col. Cunninghame of the Scots Brigade, through whom he assumed the name of Cunninghame in 1815, on his wife succeeding her sister in the estate of Balbougie. He died Father of the Church 8th Dec. 1839.
