He marr.4th Oct. 1796, Charlotte (died 13th Feb. 1825), daugh. of John M'Caul, D.D., min. of the Tron Parish, Glasgow, and had issue-William, born 28th Nov. 1797, died 17th Feb. 1811; John of Barns, W.S., born 3rd March 1799, died 11th Sept. 1882; Alexander M'Caul, his successor; James, born 15th Nov. 1801, died loth Jan. 1809; Katherine Hunter, born 31st Jan. 1807, died 22nd June 1825.

 

1836 ALEXANDER M'CAUL FORRESTER, born 13th June 1800, third son of preceding; educated at the Univ. of Edinburgh; licen. by Presb. of Peebles 6th Oct. 1824 ; pres. by Francis, Earl of Wemyss and March, 27th July 1836; ord.

20th Oct. 1836. He marr. 28th April 1846, Janet (died 17th April 1892), daugh. of Robert Cowan, surgeon, Glasgow.

(assistant and successor) 27th Sept. 1877. Marr. 17th Aug. 1897, Margaret Bryce, daugh. of George Gunn, journalist, Edinburgh, and Margaret Bryce.
