[A process was raised for its erection, after the appointment of A. F., but the Commissioners of Teinds, 31st Dec. 1707, "found there was no ground for settling a second minister."]

1897 ROBERT WINCHESTER JACKSON,  from Galashiels; educated at Evangelical Union Theol. Hall 1874; min. of E.U. Church, Bellshill, 1878-85; of E.U. Church, Falkirk, 1885-96; received into the Church of Scotland with most of the members and adherents of  his congregation,

and ord. to this charge 17th Nov. 1897; res. 1899; min. (1914) of Southbridge Presbyterian Church, Canterbury, New Zealand. He marr. 10th June 1889, Emma Madeleine Thompson, and has issue -George Winchester, born 7th March 1890; Irene Winchester, born 19th May 1891.

(1903); assistant at St Michael's, Dumfries, and St George's, Glasgow; ord. to Ruthrieston 15th Aug. 1906; trans. and adm. 11th Oct. 1910. He marr. 24th Oct. 1906, Jeanie, daugh. of A. Symington of Allanton, and has issue Jeanie, born 13th Sept. 1907; George, born 23rd March 1910; Helen, born 26th July 1912. Publications - David Livingstone (Glasgow, 1902); Mazzini (Glasgow, 1905).

[Disjoined from Whitburn and erected a parish quoad' sacra by decreet of Court of Teinds, 8th July 1872. Church built in 1867.]

1877 JOHN CONNOR, ord. 18th Jan. 1877; res. 15th Feb. 1882; entered the Methodist Church and afterwards the Presb. Church of England; died at Westmancote, Tewkesbury, 22nd Sept. 1907. He marr. 30th April 1894, Elizabeth, daugh. of Joseph Wilson, Paisley.
