ANDREW THOMSON, second son of Dr. John T., one of the min. of Edinburgh, born at Sanquhar 11th July 1778, became schoolmaster of Markinch, licen. by the Presb. 7th Oct. 1800, pres. by John, Duke of Roxburgh, 24th July 1801, and ord. 11th March following; trans. to Perth (East Church) 8th March 1808.-[Pres. DAVID BREWSTER, LL.D., son of Mr James B., rector of the Grammar School, Jedburgh, studied and took the degree of A.M. at the Univ. of Edinburgh 12th April 1800, was pres. by Sir James Norcliff Innes Ker, Bart., 20th Sept. 1808; there being a competing presentation, however, he withdrew his acceptance 2nd Sept. 1809.-Edin. 1809. NINIAN TROTTER, licen. by the Presb. 22nd June 1802, pres. by Mary, Duchess of Roxburgh, and John Manners, Esq., her husband, 12th Aug., and by General Walter Ker, of Littledean, 1st Oct. 1808, and by Sir James Norcliff Innes Ker, Bart. in Aug. 1809, he was ord. 28th Sept. following; died of asiatic cholera 12th Oct. 1832, in 24th min.[Presb. 1833. JOHN SYM, born at Paisley 19th Jan. 1809, studied at the Univ. of Glasgow, and licen. by that Presb. 14th Dec. 1831, appointed to supply St. Enoch's Ch. there, in the alternate Sundays, during the vacancy, pres. by Mary, Duchess Dowager of Roxburgh and her husband 26th Nov. 1832, and ord. 6th June thereafter; called to a chapel in Regent Square, London, which he declined to accept; trans. to Edinburgh (Old Greyfriars' Church) 1st Sept. 1834.[Discourses, Presb. 1835. GEORGE CRAIG, licen. by the Presb. of Glasgow 8th Nov. 1832, pres. by Mary, Duchess Dowager of Roxburgh and her husband 24th Oct. 1834, and ord. 5th Jan. following. On joining in the Free Secession and signing the deed of Demission, he was declared no longer a min. of this church 19th June 1843. He died 10th Feb. 1866, in 32nd min. He marr. 2tnd Oct. 1844 Margaret M'Culloch Morrison, who died 19th Nov. 1865. Publications-The Proceedings of the late Gen.
