1802. john campbell, son of James C., Esq., Edinburgh, licen. by the Presb. there 30th April 1800, pres. by Archibald, Lord Douglas in 1801, ord. 18th March 1802; died a bachelor 18th July 1818, in 46th age, and 17th min. [Presb. Reg., Tombst., &c.]

 

1819. archibald m'conechy, licen. by the Presb. of Glasgow 27th March 1805, ap­pointed schoolmaster of Erskine, pres. by Archibald, Lord Douglas, in Oct. 1818, ord. 18th March after; on joining in the Free Secession and signing, the deed of Demission, he was declared no longer a min. of this Church 20th June 1843. Having been found guilty of immorality, he was deposed by the Free Ch. Presb. of Edinburgh, and died at Musselburgh 27th Sept, 1853, having marr. and left issue. PRESTON

United to Bonkle by the Plat, and by direction of Parliament in 1621, the congregation was removed to Bonkle by order of the Synod 29th April 1668, which was ratified by the Commissioners of Teinds, 10th Feb. 1669.

 

1590. william sinclair, trans, from Bonkle, having it also attached; he was re-trans, to Bonkle; but returned before 1599, and continued in 1616.—[Reg. Assig., St Andrew's Syn., and Test. Reg.]

1572. matthew liddell, Reader at Tyningham and Quittingham in 1570, he signed the articles penned by the Synod, and presented by the Superintendent 6th Oct. 1572; in 1574 Ellem and St Bathanis were also in his charge, with a stipend of Iv Ii. Js   J2/3d (Four pounds One Shilling and two thirds of a penny)., and the kirklands; continued in 1581; removed to Ellem before 1585.—[Reg. Assig., and Min., Booke of the Kirk, Wodrow Miscell.]

 

1593. alexander swyntoun, A.M., obtained his degree at the Univ. of Edinburgh 12th Aug. 1592, pres. by James VI. before 2d June 1593; died before 21st Feb. 1595.—[Reg. Law. Univ. Edin., Assig., and Pres. (Caut.)

 

1596. john hepburnej A.M., trans, from Merton, pres. by James VI. 21st Feb. 1595, and adm. in 1596; the pres. was renewed 13th Feb. 1597; he continued in 1611.—[Reg. Pres., and Assig., Test., and Syn. Reg ]

 

1615. mungo daliell, A.M., attained his degree at the Univ. of Glasgow in 1603. He was pres. to the Vicarage of Coldingham by James VI. before 10th April 1615, but he continued here, and was a member of Assembly in 1645. The charge was vacant in Oct. 1652.—[Mun. Univ. 1655. john foord, was on the exercise at Chirnside, and had a testimonial to the Presb. of Haddington 10th May 1637; conformed and was coll. 17th Aug. 1663; died between 18th
