1800. GEORGE DRUMMOND, trans. from Mordington, Pres. by Francis, Earl of Wemyss in Sept., and adm. 13th Nov.; died 7th Aug. 1820, in his 62nd year, and 36th min. He mare. 17th April 1810, Margaret daugh. of Mr. Andrew Cunningham, gardener at Dunibirsel; she died 28th Dec. 1822, without issue.-Publications-Accounts of Cranshaws, and of Mordington.-(Sinclair’s St. Acc. vi., xv.)-[Presb. 1821. ADAM LANDELS, trans. front Hutton, pres. by William Berry, Esq., of' Whitsomehill, in Dec. 1820, and adm. 8th Feb. following; died 25th May 1838, in 91st age, and 62nd min. He marr. 1839. ROBERT COWE, A.M., attained his degree at the Univ. of Edinburgh 22nd April 1 829, became tutor in the family of the Rev. Dr. Makellar, Pencaitland, lices. by the Presb. 28th Sept. 1830, and ord. by them 19th April 1832, as min. of  High -Meeting Berwick-upon-Tweed, pres, by John Wilson, Esq., of Whitsome- hill in Jan., and adm 28th March 1839. On joining the Free Secession he was declared no longer a min. of this church 30th June 1843. He was adm to the Free Church, Portobello, same year, to -Manchester 5th Nov. 1845, and to Free St. Stephen's, Glasgow, 14th June 1849.--Publication-No Truth, no Life, Edin. 1849, sm. 8vo.-[Edin. HILTON

Was supplied by John LICHTB0DY, reader from 1576 to 1585. The parish was annexed to the Presb. of Dunse at the request of the minister, 22d Oct. 1707, but again disjoined by them, and annexed to the original Presb. in Oct. 1719; and united to Whitsome by the lords Commissioners of Tiends 19th June 1734.

 

1585. ANDREW WINCHESTER trams. from Upsetlington; died 24th Oct. 1598. The utencila were estimat at xiij li. vjs. viijd., Frie geir iiijc li. vjs. viijd. He rnarr. Beatrix Foirman, who survived him, and had a son George.-[Wodrow Miscell., Reg. Assig, Calderwood's Hist., Test. Reg.]

1650. Daniel Douglas, A.M, of the family of Edrington, attained his degree at the Univ. of  St. Andrews in 1644, he was also a bursar at the New College there in 1645, adm  after 24th Feb. 1650; he joined the Protestors in 1651, and was deprived on or before the re-establishment of Episcopacy in 1662.-[Act Rect. 1662. GEORGE HOLLWELL, A.M., took his degree at the Univ. of Edinburgh 28tlr July 1648, roll. 16th Oct. 1662; trans. to Polwarth in 1664.-[Reg. Laur. Univ. Edin., Reg. Collat.]

 

1664. JOHN HEPBURNE A.M, studied at St. Leonards' College, and had his degree from the Univ. of St. Andrews 14th July 1660, lices. by George, Bishop of Edinburgh 25th June 1663, ord. and coll. 28th Oct. 1664; trans. to Earlston in 1673.-[Reg.
