1805. GEORGE CHALMERS, licen. by the Presb. of Dalkeith 24th Nov. 1795, pres. by Alexander Renton of Lammerton in Dec. 1804, and ord. 2d May following; died 21st Feb. 1831, in 65th age and 26th min. He marr.13th June 1809 Mary Caddy.-[Presb. Reg., &c.]
1832. GEORGE FULTON KNIGHT, A.M., son of Mr George K., teacher, Edinburgh, obtained his degree at the Univ. there 12th April 1828, licen. by the Presb. of Haddington 8th July 1831, pres. by the Trustees of Colonel Alexander Renton of Mordington in Sept. following. The settlement was delayed, however, in consequence of an opposing presentation by Alexander Campbell Renton, Esq. of Mordington, with consent of his father, to Mr John Robertson, preacher of the Gospel, but the Court of Session, in July 1832, preferring that by the Trustees, he was ord. 6th Sept. thereafter. On adhering to the Protest, joining in the Free Secession, and signing the deed of Demission, he was declared no longer a min. of this Church 24th May 1843, and adm. to the Free Church, East Wemyss, 14th March 1844. He marr. 12th March 1834, and had a daugh, who marc. Tho. Bywater, Esq., factor on the estate of Wemyss. -Publication-Account of the Parish (New St. Acc. ii.).-[Edin. Grad., Pre8b. Reg., &c]
LAMMERTON. Was originally a chapel of Coldingham. At this church James IV. met his royal bride, Princess Margaret, daugh. of Henry VII. of England, 5th Aug. 1502, two days previous to their marriage; an event worthy of remembrance, as paving the way for the union of the Kingdoms 1st May 1707. The parish was united to and held with Foulden in 1616, with Ayton in 1627, and finally was annexed to Mordington 8th Feb. 1650.
SWINTON. Previous to the Reformation the Church belonged to the Abbey of Coldingham. The parish was supplied by JOHN FORREST, reader and vicar, from 1574-1576, and by ROBERT LANDELS, reader, from 15791580.

1595. ANDREW ARBUTHNOT, pres. by James VI. 30th Jan. 1607. In 1627 the communicants amounted to “thrie hundrethe and fiftie." He demitted between 1st June and 6th July 1632.-[Reg. Assig., and Pres., Test. Reg. (Laud.), Kirk Pap., Bannatyne Miscell. iii, Stat. Reports, 1627.]
1632. WALTER SWINTOUN, A.M., acquired his degree at the Univ. of St Andrews in 1616, pres. by Charles I. 6th July 1632, was a member of the Gen. 1647. EDWARD JAMESON, A.M., was laureated at the Univ. of Edinburgh in July 1643. He joined the Protestors in 1651. In 1654 he was named by the Council of England one of those for authorising admissions to the ministry in the provinces of Lothian, Merse, and Teviotdale; deposed in 1661 for his opposition to the Public Resolutions.
