1650. GEORGE POLLOK, A.M., was graduated at the Univ. of Glasgow in 1644. The Synod 18th Oct. 1650 authorised the Presb. to Cake him on trials for Abbey. 1664. JAMES COKBURNE, A.M., obtained his degree at the Univ. of Edinburgh in May 1653, licen. by George, Bishop of Edinburgh 5th Nov. 1662, pres. by Charles II. 8th, ord and coll. 22d April, and adm. and inst. 26th May 1664, censured for immorality, and trans. to Pencaitland in 167 4.-(Edin. 1675. JAMES DUNBAR, A.M., trans. from Merton, pres. by Charles II. 2d Dec. 1674, adm. 12th Jan. 1675; deprived for refusing the Test in 1681, and died at Edinburgh 17th March 1684, aged about 65. 1682. ROBERT BOWMAKER, A.M., was laureated at the Univ. of Edinburgh in 1675, pres. by Charles II. 23d March, and adm. 1st June 1682; died 29th May 1697, aged about 42, in 15th min.-[Min.-book Reg. Priv. Seal v., Old Dec. i., Presb., and Ellem Sess. Reg., MS. Acc. of Min. 1689.
1699. GEORGE HUME, A.M., Crans. from Selkirk, called 15th Nov. 1698, adm. 28th Feb. 1699; died 19th Sept. 1705, aged about 54, in 11th min. Jean Hamilton, relict.-[Presb., and Test. Reg. (Laud.), Tombst., Boston's Mem.]
1707. GEORGE HUME, of Abbey, A.M., Crans. from Ayton, called 18th July 1706, adm. 7th Jan. 1707; died in March 1718, aged about 55, in 24th min. The Inventar and debts amounted to ijmijc lviij li. vijs. ijd. He marr in Jan. 1700, Rebecca Pow, who survived him, and had a son, John, and two daugh., Sophia and Jane.-[Edin. 1719. JAMES HALL, A.M., attained his degree at the Univ. of Edinburgh 11th May 1704, licen. by some Dissenting min. in England in 1714, and ord. by them in 1715 as min. of a Presbyterian congregation there, had a testimonial from the Presb. of Edinburgh in Feb. 1717, presb. by the Pres. jure devoluto, and adm. 28th July 1719; suspended for having a penny wedding in his house, which gave great scandal to the neighbourhood, but was reponed 6th July 1731; died 19th July, 1754, in his 85th year.
