1634. WILLIAM DALGLEISCHE, A.M., had his degree from the Univ. of St Andrews in 1619; deposed by Thomas, Bishop of Galloway in 1635 for non-conformity, but it was taken off before 18th Feb 1636. He gave xx merks toward. the building and library of the Univ. of Glasgow about same time, was a member of Assembly in 1638, and trans. to Cramond in 1639.-[Act Rect. Univ. 1640. SAMUEL ROW, A.M., trans. from Dunfermline 2d Charge. He joined the Protesting party in 1651, was nominated by the Council of England, 8th Aug. 1654, one of those named by the Council in England for authorising admissions to the ministry in Dumfries and Galloway, and was trans. to Sprouston in 1655.-[Reid's Ireland ii., Acts Part. v., Kelso Presb., and Stow Sess. 165-. PATRICK PEACOCK, A.M., obtained his degree at the Univ. of St Andrews in 1648, and was on the Exercise there 30th June 1652. He was deprived by the Acts of Parliament 11th June, and of Privy Council 1st October 1662, and being accused of "still labouring to keep the hearts of the people from the present government in Church and State," was charged by the Privy Council to remove before 26th March 1663. 166-. ALEXANDER REID, A.M., a native of Montrose, graduated at the Univ. and King's College Aberdeen 31st March 1662, pres. by James, Bishop of Galloway. The Bishop and Synod 26th Oct. 1664 ordained a letter to be written him to send the demission of his church between and 2d Feb., and in case it come not, the Presb. to send of their number to declare the kirk vacant.-[Fasti Aberd., Syn. 1689. PATRICK PEACOCK, A.M., above mentioned, returned from the congregation he held at Killeleagh Castle in 1689, was restored by the Act of Parliament 25th April 1690, was a member of the first Gen. Assembly after the Revolution same year, and died after 20th Oct. 1691, aged about 64. He and Margaret Mure, his spouse, had sasine of ane annual rent furth of the lands of Barholm in June 1664.-[Reid's Ireland ii, iii, Syn., and New Gen. Reg. Sasines viii., Gen. 1693. DAVID EDGAR, A.M., acquired his degree at the Univ. of Edinburgh 27th July 1663, adm. between 18th April and 17th Oct. 1693; died in 1701, aged about 58.-[Edin. Grad. Syn. Reg., Matt. Symson's Charac. of the Presbyterian Spirits, &c.]

 

1703. SAMUEL BROWN, studied divinity at the Univ. of Glasgow, licen. by the Presb. 26tb Nov. 1702, called in Jan., and ord. 31st March 1703; died 17th May 1751, in his 74th year; end 49th min. He marr. Dorothea, daugh of Patrick Murdoch of Cumloddan; she died 19th
