1690. ANDREW GUTHRIE, ord. l0th Oct.; was a member of the Assembly 1692, and trans. to Peterhead in 1698.-[Presb. Reg., Reg. Odd Dec. i, and Gen. Ass. 1692.

 

1701. THOMAS ANDERSON, called 5th June, and ord. 25th Sept.; trans. to Aytoun 29th Jan. 1712.-[Presb. Reg.]

 

1713. ALEXANDER TROTTER, A.M., son of Mr. Robert T., Rector of the Grammar School Dumfries, a descendant of the family of Prentannan in Mark, studied and took his degree at the Univ. of Edinburgh 29th April 1701, licen. by the Presb. 29th July 1712, pres. by the Presb. jure devoluto 28th July, and ord. 10th Sept. 1713. Had a new church built in 1732, and died 27th Dec. 1758, in his 82nd year, and 46th min. He had two daugh., Catherine, wife of Mr. James Thomson, min. of Kingoldrum, and Margaret, wife of William Smith, merchant, Dundee.-[Mem. of R. Trotter, Presb., and Test. Reg., New St. Acc., Edin. 1759. WILLIAM REDPATH, third son of Mr. George R., min. of Ladykirk, licen. by the Presb. of Kelso 4th Oct. 1757, pres. by George II. in June, and ord. 27th Sept. 1759; died l0th Sept. 1797, in 67th age, and 38th min. 1797. JOHN HASTIE, a native of Lanarkshire, became schoolmaster of Dunsyre, and was subsequently tutor in the family of Mr. Buchan of Kello, licen. by the Presb. of Dunse 2d Sept. 1788, appointed by George III. in Nov. 1796, and ord. (assist. and suc.) 23d Feb. following; died suddenly of inflamatory sore throat 20th Nov. 1822 in his 60th year, and 26th min. He marr. 3d June 1803, Sarah, daugh. of George Logan, Esq., of New Edrom; she died 19th Nov. 1842, and had a son and two daugh.-[Presb. Reg., Tombst., &c.]

 

1823. ALEXANDER CUTHBERTSON, licen. by the Presb. of Irvine 6th May 1817, became assistant to the Rev. Dr. Somerville of Jedburgh, pres. by George IV. in Feb., and ord. 21st Aug. 1823; died 4th June 1849, in 57th age, and 26th min.
