WILLIAM SINGER, son of James Sinziur, in Murrial, Insch, Aberdeensh., bapt. 24th July 1765, educated at the parish school of Culsalmond, and studied at the Univ. and Marisohal College, Aberdeen, appointed schoolmaster of Kilmalie 6th May 1789, pres. by James, Earl of Hopetoun in Aug., and ord. 1800. JAMES CRICHTON, studied at the Univ. of Edinburgh, and licen. by the Presb. there 25th April 1798, pres. by James, Earl of Hopetoun 19th Nov. 1799, and ord. (assist. and suc.) 25th April following; trans. to Holywood 12th Sept. 1805.-[Presb. Reg.]
1806. JOSEPH KIRKPATRICK, Of Rashgill, trans. from Dunscore, pres. by James, Earl of Hopetoun in Nov. 1805, and adm. 21st Feb. thereafter; died 27th July 1824, in his 75th year and 47th min., being the first min. who had died in the charge for a hundred and twenty-nine years. He generally supported the measures of the popular party in the Church, and was a pious, useful, and highly respected minister. He marr. 18th Feb. 1783 Anna daugh. of Mr William M'Millan, min. of Torthorwald; she died 31st Jan. 1812, aged 70, and had a daugh. Isabella, who marr. CHARLES DICKSON, studied at the Univ. of Edinburgh, licen. by the Presb. of Haddington 6th Dec. 1821, pres. by John, Earl of Hopetoun 24th Nov. 1824, and ord. 5th May thereafter ; died 10th May 1853, in 29th min.
