1801. THOMAS LOGAN, M.D., a native of Carnwath, took his degree at the Univ. of Edinburgh in 1799, was the friend and associate of Leyden, Brougham, Brown, &c., who formed a society termed the Academy of Physics; he was licen. by the Presb. of Lanark 30th July 1800; pres. by Sir James Hall of Dunglass, Bart., in Sept. following, and ord. 16th April after; died 30th Jan. 1838, in his 62d year, and 37th min. He marr. 27th March 1804, Agnes Watt, who died 21st Aug. 1813, and had a son, James, min. of Swinton, and two daugh.-Publication Dissertatio medica inauguralis De Dyspepsia, Edin. 1799, 8vo.-[Presb. 1585. ROBERT HEISLOP, when Lammerton was also part of his charge, he was pres. to the Vicarage by James VI. 28th Feb. saine year; trans. to Whitsome or Swinton in the following year.-[Reg. Assig., and Pres.]
1586. JOHN HOME, trans. from Langton, pres. to the Vicarage by James VI. l0th Nov. demitted 12th Feb. 1601, and went to Ladykirk.-[Reg. Pres., and Assig.]
1601. WILLIAM HOG, trans. from Lindean, pres. to the Vicarage by James VI. 18th Feb. and again by his Majesty to the modified stipend of Ayton and Lamberton 23d Jan. 1611. He signed the Protestation, with forty-one others, against the introduction of Episcopacy 1st July 1606. In June 1609 he was a witness in the trial of forfeiture for high treason against Logan, eldest son of the deceased Robert Logan of Restalrig, who had been accessory to the Gowrie conspiracy, and was then aged thirty; died in Dec. 1616, in his 38th year.
