1774, and adm. 9th March thereafter; died 2d Nov. 1796, in his 72d year and 36th min. He marr. 19th March 1761, Lucia Aitkin, who died 11th Jan. 1803, and had four sons and two daugh., of whom Maxwell marr. the Rev. Charles Cunninghame of Lundie and Fowlis. 1797. JOHN M'CUBBIN, licen. by the Presb. 28th April 1789, pres. by Robert Ferguson, Esq., of Craigdarrooh, in April, and ord. 17th Aug. 1797; he got a new church built in 1803, and died 30th March 1817, in 20th min. He marr. 1st, Isabella, second daugh. of Donald Maclean of Kilmoluaig; 2dly, 2d Jan. 1815, Mary, second daugh. of Mr James Welsh; she died 10th Nov. 1849.-[Presb., and Syn. 1818. ANTONY Dow, D.D., trans. from Kilspindie, pres. by Rich. Alex. Oswald, Esq., of Auchencruive 25th Aug. 1817, and adm. 25th June succeeding; died 17th July 1834, in 7 2d age and 45th min. He marr., 1st, 1st May 1797, Anne Campbell, or Brown, who died 1st Aug. 1824, and had David, his assistant, and William, min. of Tongland; 2dly, 16th May 1826, Mary Campbell, who died at Edinburgh 18th April 1856. 1822. DAVID Dow, eldest son of the preceding, licen. by the Presb. of Perth 31st March, 1819, pres. by Rich. Alex. Oswald, Esq. of Auchincruive in Dec. 1821, and ord. (assist. and sue.) 28th March thereafter; demitted 17th July, which was accepted 7th Aug. 1832, and he was declared no longer a min. of this church, having adopted doctrines inconsistent with her standards. He went to the Cape of Good Hope, and became a farmer. He marr. 13th Nov. 1829, Catherine, youngest daugh. of Thomas Goldie, Esq. of Craigmuie; she died 15th June 1831.-[Presb. Reg., &c.]
1832. ROBERT CRAWFURD, licen. by the Presb. of Irvine 31st Aug. 1824, appointed by Rich. Alex. Oswald, Esq. of Auchincruive in Oct., and ord. (assist. and suc.) 6th Dec. 1832. Having adhered to the Protest, joined in the Free Secession, and signed the deed of Demission, he was declared no longer a min. of this Church 24th May 1843; adm. to the Free Ch. Virginhall 15th Feb. 1844, and died at Penpont 7th Aug. 1856, aged 57, in 24th min. He marr. 1st, 20th Dec. 1832, Isabella Fulton, and had a son and two daughters; 2dly, 12th Oct. 1834, Martha Hamilton, who died 3d May 1865.-Publication-Account of the Parish (New St. Acc. iv.).-[Presb. LOCHRUTTON. Previous to the Reformation the church belonged to the Collegiate church of Lincluden. The parish was supplied by JOHN LITTIL, exhorter from Beltyn 1567.
1574. ARCHIBALD SINCLAIR, was pres. to the Chancellarie of the Chapel Royal of Stirling, viz., the parsonage and vicarage of Suthick, and parsonage and vicarage of Kingarth, in Bute, by James VI. 18th March 1572, but was non-resident at Zuddick in 1575.
