ELLEM or ELLEMFORD. The parish was supplied by ROBERT FLINT, reader, from 1567 to 1585, and was suppressed by the Commissioners of Teinds, and annexed to Longformacus 13th Feb. 1712.
1585. MATTHEW LIDDELL, trans. from Cranshaws, having Cranshaws and St Bathans also in charge, but in 1590 only the latter; continued in 1591, and was trans. to Abbey St Bathans same year.-[Reg. Assig., Calderwood's Hist.]
1593. ROBERT LEVINGSTOUN, continued in 1594, and was translated to Drummelzier in the following year.-[Reg. Assig.]

1596. GEORGE REIDPATH, A.M., was laureated at the Univ. of Edinburgh 1st Aug. 1590, trans. to Bonkle in 1599, but returned previous to 1608; trans. to Abbey St Bathans before 1627.-[Reg. Lauer. Univ. Edin., and Assig.]
1635. ROBERT HOME, A.M., acquired his degree at the Univ. of St Andrews in 1617; trans. to Greenlaw before 1645.-[Act. Rect. Univ. St. And., Kirk Papers.]
1649. PATRICK HOME, who probably studied and took the degree of A.M. at the Univ. of Edinburgh in 1640 or 1641, continued in 1650.-[Kirk Pap., Test. Reg. (Laud.), Edin. Grad.

1654. ZACHARIAS WILKIE, A. M., son of Mr Robert W., one of the min. of Glasgow, named after Mr Zachary Boyd, from whom he got a legacy of jc merks 15th Jan. 1652. He studied and attained his degree at the Univ. of that city in 1644, entering on the study of theology the same year; became chaplain to George, Earl of Calendar, with whom he was residing, 20th Sept. 1649, adm. 13th April 1654; conforming to Episcopacy, he was coll. 18th June 1663, and died in Dec. 1683, aged about 60, in 30th min. His librarie was worth jc li (One Hundred Pounds) utencils jc merks. Inventar and debts vijc xlvi li. xijs. Iijd. He marr in Apri11669, Margaret Simsoun,of the par. of Innerwick.-[Mun. 1684. JOHN BROWN, A.M., trans. from Longformacus, coll. and adm. 1st March, and inst. 3d April; died between 21st Oct. 1713 and 1st June 1714, aged about 61, in 36th min.[Presb., and Sess. Reg., MS. Acc. of Min. 1689, Rule's Sec. Vindication.]
POLWARTH The parish was supplied by ROBERT BELL, reader, from 1567 to 1580.
[ADAM HOME, third son of Sir Patrick H. of Polwarth, died in 1593. He marr Cristian Stewart, and had two sons, Alexander and Patrick, and a daugh., Margaret, who marr.
