PRESBYTERY OF DUNSE p. 404
was pres. by Charles I. 4th May to the second prebend
of Durham, and installed 7th June 1634, -which he held in conjunction,
and died in Nov. 1636, aged about 57. His books, utencils, and domicels
were estimat at jc li (One Hundred Pounds) He marr. 1st,
Margaret Cockburn, and had a son. David; 2dly, Janet Murray, and had
a son John, who succeeded him in the paternal estate of Lathocker,
and a daugh., who being reduced to straits, received from the Session
of Bothans iij li. (Three Pounds) 10th April 1664.—Publication.—The

Andrew R. of Duncrub, was graduated at the Univ. of St Andrews in
1626. Deposed by the Gen. Assembly 14th Dec. 1638, for signing a declinature
of their authority from ignorance, he having been brought up in the
principles of the English Church. On his supplication, he was allowed
to delete his signature, and declare his recantation in the paroche
kirk, on which he was reponed. He was again deposed by the same judicatory
in July 1649, this sentence was taken off by the Synod of Perth and

Leith, adm. 11th May. He was prom, to the Archbishoprick of Glasgow

Diaries.] 1663. andrew collage, A.M., formerly of Dundee,
collated 5th Aug.; died 13th Sept. 1664, aged about 73.—[Reg. Collat.,

Reg] 1666. william gray, trans, from Auchterless, coll. 1st May; deprived by the Privy Council 3d Sept. 1689 for not reading the Proclamation of the Estates, not praying for their Majesties William and Mary, and not observing the Thanksgiving. He died in the following month; the Inventar amounted to vijc li (Seven Hundred Pounds). He marr. Anna Gray. Mr John, the eldest son, became Clerk and Keeper of the Reg. of Sasines in the county of Berwick, and was served heir 4th March 1693; he had also a daugh. Margaret, who marr. at the Univ. of Edinburgh 13th July 1695, licen. by the Presb. there
3d Sept. 1701, preached some time in the meeting-house at Haddington,
the Episcopalians keeping possession of the parish church, called
18th June, and ord. 24th Sept. 1703; died in Sept. 1736, aged about
62, in 33d min. He marr. 1st, 3d Feb. 1704, Grizel, daugh. of
Thomas Hunter, writer, Edinburgh, and had a daugh., Elizabeth, who
marr. David Spence, writer to the signet; 2dly, in March 1731, Jean,
daugh. of Alexander Trotter of Cattleshiell.—[Reg.
